- Three-year-old Christian Miller was shot and killed while riding in a car on the Southfield freeway.

"He was on his way to see Sesame Street Live," said Mario Campbell.

Campbell's 3-year-old son was sitting right next to Christian. He is hurting for the loss of his godson, but thankful his boy is okay. Now he wants to know who did this.

"My son and godson was in the car and I want somebody to talk," Campbell said.

Video released of suspect's car in shooting death of 3-year-old

The child was hit on the Southfield freeway northbound near Plymouth at about 7:30 Thursday.

Police say when his godmother who was driving realized what happened, she pulled off the highway. The boy was rushed to the hospital but died Friday morning.

"They were driving down the freeway and I guess it was some guy - they don't know if they were chasing another car, group of guys or whatever," said Marilyn Perry, a family relative. "And they were shooting. So I guess the baby probably cried and when they looked in the back seat, he was shot. I was told the bullet went through his car seat."

Michigan State Police aren't sure if the vehicle was targeted but they now have a better sense of what they're looking for.

MSP is searching for a silver four-door sedan believed to be a Mercedes. The driver was described as a light skinned man with a full beard.

Anyone with Information is asked to contact 855-MICH-TIP or 1-800 SPEAK-UP.
